Grade 2

Our Grade 2 Program provides a fun introduction to basketball. The program is led by a professional basketball coach, with assistance from high school student coaches. Players learn the basics of basketball during the first part of the session and scrimmage for the second part. There are no teams or weekday practices for Grade 2.

Eligibility requirements
Player must be entering 2nd grade in Fall of 2026. We welcome players from Newton, as well as from surrounding towns. No prior basketball experience is necessary. Enrollement is limited due to gym availablity

Grades 3-9

For our Grades 3-9 Program, players have 1- hour long practice, 1 night/ week (Monday – Thursday). Younger players have earlier practices. All games take place on Saturdays.

Registration closes October 31, 2026

We accept late registration if space is available. A $25 Late Fee will be applied to all registrations after October 31, 2026. We cannot guarantee a spot on a desired team, since team assignments are in the works by this date. Friend requests will NOT be accommodated for late registrations. 

Please consider volunteering

The NGBA is completely volunteer run. Please consider signing up to help provide the best experience possible for our girls. We need:

  • Head Coaches – Leads one weekly practice and guides a team through one weekly game throughout the season.
  • Asst Coaches – Helps the head coach with managing practices and game management each week 
  • Grade Coordinators – Partners with the registrar and the board in building rosters, setting schedules and overseeing logistics for a grade level throughout the season. 
  • Board Members – Acts as a steward for the NGBA ensuring each season runs smoothly and helps position the league for future success.
