A few quick reminders regarding the gyms for all coaches, parents and players.

Keep the gym floors clean:

  • Players should never wear street shoes into the gyms (especially as we get into the winter months).  All players must wear indoor basketball sneakers in the gym in order to keep the floors as clean as possible.
  • Spectators must NOT WALK ON THE BASKETBALL COURTS with their boots/street shoes. They should walk around the sides of the courts. Walking on the courts in street shoes with sand and dirt can quickly become a safety issue as the day progresses.
  • No food or drink (other than water bottles) is permitted in the gyms.

Be prompt in starting and ending practices:

  • If you arrive before the hour, please warm-up/stretch in the hall, not in the gym.  Even if the gym is empty, we cannot enter before 6 pm (or we’ll be reprimanded by the school and asked to pay more for the time).
  • There is likely to be another team scheduled after you.  Please conclude on the hour as this is a source of complaints from a few coaches every season.  If you have the 8-9 pm slot, leaving after 9 pm will result in additional fees, so even though nobody is coming into the gym at 9 pm, we must vacate on-time.
  • If school activities run past 6 pm, then all teams will start later than their scheduled time (e.g., 6:10, 7:10, and 8:10 pm).  This typically happens only a couple times a year across all gyms.

Follow the Saturday game day schedule:

  • All games should start promptly on the hour.  If you’re late in starting, you must finish at the top of the hour.  We have many groups using the gyms including NGBA, NGS, Softball, and others. The only exception is if the gyms open late (which very rarely happens).
